Certificate Description

The undergraduate level certificate in Global Leadership provides the participant with the tools to develop leadership skills which will allow them to lead high performing organizations that are quick to adapt to the ever changing global world.
 
Global Leadership Certificate Program Outcomes: 

Upon completion of the Certificate in Global Leadership the student will be able to:
  • Apply proper leadership concepts, theories, and analytical methods within the global business environment.
  • Employ appropriate leadership styles and strategies based upon the situation.
  • Create a culturally diverse organizational philosophy that provides for appropriate culture and development strategies.

Certificate Requirements

To qualify for graduation with a Bachelor Certificate, the student must successfully fulfill all of the following requirements:
  • Complete all certificate course requirements (12 Credits).
  • Maintain an overall GPA of 2.0 or better for all coursework applying toward the certificate.
  • Pay all tuition and fees.  
Typical length of study: 24 Weeks

Credits Required: 12 Credits/4 Courses
  • BUS 3302 – Leadership (3 credits)
  • BUS 4303 – Cultural Awareness in Business (3 credits)
  • BUS 4307 – International Management (3 credits)
  • BUS 4311 – Leadership, Culture and Change (3 credits)

Admission Requirements

  • An official high school transcript or its equivalent
  • Military service members and veterans may provide: (1) DD Form 1966 - Record of Military Processing. (2) DD Form 214 - Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty. (3) Military Branch records that document high school graduation or equivalent.
  • Home schooled students must provide an official transcript issued by a governmental authority or school supervisor that attests to the successful completion of a state approved program considered to be equivalent to an accredited high school diploma or GED certificate.
  • Transfer students may provide an official transcript from an accredited postsecondary institutional in which at least twelve (12) semester hours have been successfully completed with a grade of “C” or higher in each course. Apollos University reserves the right to verify high school completion and can still require proof of the completion.
  • Transcripts of previously earned credit to be evaluated for possible transfer to an Apollos program. NOTE: unofficial transcripts will be accepted to expedite transfer credit evaluation. However official transcripts must be submitted within the first semester by students who are admitted to the University.
  • Copy of Government ID and Résumé or Curriculum Vitae (CV)
APPLICANTS WHOSE NATIVE LANGUAGE IS OTHER THAN ENGLISH

Applicants whose native language is not English and who have not earned a degree from an appropriately accredited institution where English is the principal language of instruction must demonstrate college-level proficiency in English through one of the following:
  • Test of English As a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Language Test (IELTS) A minimum score of 500 on the paper-based Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL PBT), or 61 on the Internet Based Test (iBT), a 6.0 on the International English Language Test (IELTS) or 44 on the PTE** Academic Score Report.
  • A minimum grade of Level 3 on the ACT COMPASS’s English as a Second Language Placement Test;
  • A minimum grade of Pre-1 on the Eiken English Proficiency Exam;
  • A minimum B1 English proficiency level identified within the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) standards and assessed through various ESOL examinations, including the University of Cambridge;
  • A transcript indicating completion of at least 30 semester hours of credit with an average grade of “C” or higher at an appropriately accredited accredited college or university where the language of instruction was English;
  • A transfer transcript indicating a grade of “C” or higher in an English composition course from an appropriately accredited* college or university; or
  • A high school diploma completed at an appropriately* accredited/recognized high school (where the medium of instruction is English). 

*accredited by an agency recognized by the United States Secretary of Education and/or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), or an accepted foreign equivalent that is listed in the International Handbook of Universities.

Transcripts not in U.S. equivalency must be evaluated by an organization such as one that is a member of National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) (www.naces.org) or an Apollos University approved organization or individual. It is recommended that the applicant work with the Admissions Office to ensure that the company performing the evaluation is acceptable.

TRANSFER CREDIT POLICY

The applicant can request that credits previously completed at other universities be considered for transfer into Apollos University. The applicant seeking the transfer of credits will need to provide written notification to the Admissions office containing the course name, catalog number, and date completed for each course along with a copy of the course description and the name of the university where the credit was earned. Transferable credits must be approved by the Registrar who performs a review of the courses, accepting only those whose course description, course-learning objectives, and program objects match the AU course(s) and program. If necessary, the Registrar will request the applicable associate chair to review the material to help ensure there is a match between the transfer credits and the requirements of the Apollos degree program. The Registrar may require the applicant to provide additional information in order to help support the evaluation process. In addition to the official transcript from the previous university, additional types of information may include but are not limited to the following:
  • Syllabi of courses being considered for transfer credit.
  • Official catalog(s) covering the dates the courses were taken.
