Introducing Dr. Chad Tackett Apollos Administrator, Faculty Member, Avid Skateboarder

11/16/2020 12:16:55 PM

Dr. Chad Tackett joined Apollos as a faculty member in 2019 after completing his Doctorate of Business Administration at Northcentral University in 2017.  More recently, Apollos University welcomed Dr. Tackett onto the administrative staff in October 2020 as the Director of Registrar and Academic Scheduling.  As an individual who champions education as “the most important thing in the world for our economy and society,” Dr. Tackett sees his role as a professor and now as a university administrator as key ways that he is doing his part to ensure that others have the same opportunities that he enjoyed.  According to Dr. Tackett, “dedicating my life to facilitating education is how I believe I can help the world the most.”

Over the years, Dr. Tackett has worn many hats and gained many credentials along the way.  He has worked as an admissions advisor for other proprietary universities, has served the front lines of education as a P-12 substitute teacher, and has honed his marketing and sales skills as a sales consultant.  Beyond these professions, Dr. Tackett holds certificates in education, admissions practices, a medical examiners DOT license, OHSA, OHSA Construction, and most recently a certificate in higher education accreditation standards and practices.

In the classroom, Dr. Tackett brings all of these experiences into his engagement with students along with an enthusiasm for learning and knowledge transfer that is second to none.  Dr. Tackett has already proven that he brings this same level of enthusiasm to his new role as an Apollos administrator and has jumped right in and taken ownership of various tasks and projects.  Tackett also brings a wealth of knowledge relating to admissions and personal selling and he is sharing his experience with the admissions team by leading role-playing and skills-building exercises during our staff and team-building meetings.

Of his time with Apollos, Dr. Tackett remarked, “I have never met a nicer group of people that share the same passion for education as me”

As a father of five and an avid skateboarder, Dr. Tackett describes himself as a “100% family man, 100% skateboarder.”  Beyond skateboarding, though, he enjoys hiking, swimming, and hanging out at the local playgrounds with his children and fiancé.

It is with great pleasure, then, that we at Apollos introduce Dr. Chad Tackett to our growing team.  We are excited about the level of expertise, professionalism, and energy that he brings to our online classrooms and now to our administrative functions.  Thank you to Dr. Tackett and welcome to the head of the herd!  Onward Bison!

Retired Major Paul Eidson, Ph.D, DBA, Apollos University CEO and Veteran

11/11/2020 1:50:06 PM

On Veterans Day, we salute those individuals who have bravely served their nation and heeded the call of service and duty.  As an institution founded by veterans and proudly serving veterans, everyone at Apollos University would like to express our sincerest gratitude for the sacrifices and dedication made by all of our great nation’s active duty, retired, and veteran military servicemen and women.

Many of you may know the Apollos University CEO and Founder, Dr. Paul Eidson.  But what many of you may not know is that Dr. Paul is also a retired Air Force officer and Vietnam Veteran.  Dr. Paul joined the Air Force in 1968 and was initially assigned to McConnel AFB in Wichita, Kansas as a computer operator and programmer.  Later, he served at Bien Hoa Air Base Vietnam, continuing his computer work and also serving as a special courier, traveling to various parts of Vietnam to support military functions.  After 10 years as an enlisted airman, Dr. Paul completed his bachelor’s degree at The Ohio State University and entered officer training school.  As an officer, Dr. Paul rose to the rank of Major.  In 1989, after over twenty years of service to our country, Dr. Paul retired from the Air Force and applied his skills and knowledge as a contractor, first with McDonald-Douglas and later with Boeing.  During those years, Dr. Paul furthered his career and his education and earned not one, but two doctorates in business.  It was during this time that Dr. Paul fell in love with distance education and made plans for the next phase of his outstanding career—higher education.  Though he still claims he is retired, Dr. Paul lives his passion for higher education and advanced degrees every day, dedicating himself to growing the Apollos brand and furthering the Apollos mission to bring educational opportunities to those individuals who cannot or do not want to attend traditional classrooms.  Of his decision to found Apollos University, Dr. Paul commented that “after completing doctoral degrees in both a traditional classroom and then through distance education, I recognized the value that online degree programs offer non-traditional students and especially active duty and retired veterans.  Online education can open doors that would otherwise be closed.  I knew starting Apollos University would provide additional opportunities for many individuals, including active duty and retired military personnel, to earn advanced degrees and I’m proud of what we’ve built at Apollos.”

In 2016, Dr. Paul was instrumental in moving Apollos University to Great Falls, Montana.  “I fell in love with Great Falls immediately,” he said of his first visit to Montana.  “With Malmstrom Air Force Base on the edge of town, an active and engaged Military Affairs Committee, and a steadily growing network of active duty and retired military folks, I new immediately that Apollos had a lot to offer Great Falls.  I’d found our new home and I’m honored to give back every way that I can.”

From all of us at Apollos University, we would like to extend a huge thank you to Dr. Paul.  Thank you for your service and for you continuing dedication to giving back to veterans, to active duty servicemen and women, and to their families!

The Apollos University Tuition Guarantee

10/22/2020 9:24:24 AM

At many universities, tuition increases are common and students often find themselves paying higher and higher tuition and fees rates as they progress through their studies.  When these tuition increases occur, current students are subject to the new rates, and the total cost of their program and the debt they will incur goes up without warning or input.  According to finaid.org, tuition inflation occurs at an average annual rate of 8% which equates to the cost of college doubling roughly every decade.  It's no wonder that today’s college students are incurring record debt.

At Apollos University, our mission is to ensure that student can achieve their academic goals without incurring debt.  Our low tuition rates and affordable payment options make earning an advanced degree or professional certificate truly accessible.  In recent polling, 92.31% of Apollos Alumni reported incurring no student debt whatsoever and the 7.69% of alumni who did report taking on student debt during their studies reported student debt amounts under $2500.  Imagine earning your degree with no student debt!  This is our mission and we’re making this dream a reality for individuals just like yourself.

At Apollos, though, we take this guarantee one step farther.  Apollos's tuition has remained low throughout our existence, but if we do raise our tuition while you’re a student, you won’t pay an additional penny more.  Your tuition is locked in at your starting rate throughout your studies and, if you choose to continue your education with another degree, you enjoy the same tuition rate that the new program was when you started your first degree or certificate.

That’s the Apollos Tuition Guarantee.
